Quiet

Quiet Morning Sun Rise

With a quick hug and I love you, my son walked out the door.  He has been back in our home for the past month, but it was time to head home to Madison.

It is strange, how you slowly get used to one more person in the house.  The extra clothes lying around the house.  The way the groceries disappear a little faster.  The television constantly being on in one room or another.  The extra loads of laundry needing to be done. Continue reading “Quiet”

Habits

Note to Self

I think at the beginning of the year, we all look at how we want our year to progress.  We reflect back on the past year, what went well.  What didn’t go so well?  What did we learn?

Then, we use this information to look forward to our current year.  Do I still want the same things this year as last?  Why or why not?  And am I on the right path to lead the life I want to be living.

The Cruise Continues

Up Early again on the ship and we are pulling into our second port of the cruise.  Yesterday we were in Aruba.  Let me just say, there is nothing negative I can say about Aruba.  It is just as beautiful as you imagine it would be.  The water is incredibly blue and the beaches are pure white.

Living My Best Life

Sitting in the cafe of the cruise ship, an older women, all smiles walked by.  When she passed I noticed the back of her shirt said, “Living my best life”.

I started to think about the phrase as I sat staring at the sign rise over the water.  Am I doing this?

At this very moment, I couldn’t think of a better place to be.  I am floating across the Caribbean sea on the way to Aruba.  Honestly, life is pretty good right this moment.  And in the spirit of living in the moment, yes I am living my best life. Continue reading “Living My Best Life”

Vacation Mode

As we were driving to the airport my son asked if I was in vacation mode yet.  My husband answered that I would not be in vacation mode until after I made it through security at the airport, always a stress point for me.

Morning

I replied my brain went on vacation mode several days before. You know the feeling when you are at work and you start to daydream about sunny days at a beach.  I would like to think I was productive my last few days at work, but I probably wasn’t.
