My Inspiration

In an Instagram, social media filled world, it isn’t hard to see the life you want to live displayed on someone else’s feed.  But what does it really mean to be living an inspiring life? Does it really fill you with inspiration?

Does looking through your friend’s feeds inspire you?  Does it make you filled with joy watching them grow and have amazing experiences?  Or does it in some way diminish your life?

Quiet

Quiet Morning Sun Rise

With a quick hug and I love you, my son walked out the door.  He has been back in our home for the past month, but it was time to head home to Madison.

It is strange, how you slowly get used to one more person in the house.  The extra clothes lying around the house.  The way the groceries disappear a little faster.  The television constantly being on in one room or another.  The extra loads of laundry needing to be done. Continue reading “Quiet”

Habits

Note to Self

I think at the beginning of the year, we all look at how we want our year to progress.  We reflect back on the past year, what went well.  What didn’t go so well?  What did we learn?

Then, we use this information to look forward to our current year.  Do I still want the same things this year as last?  Why or why not?  And am I on the right path to lead the life I want to be living.

I have a long list of things I would like to accomplish this year. 

But in the end, what I really want is to live a life with more love and happiness.  And to this end, I want to experience more things and have less stuff. Continue reading “Habits”

Christmas Morning

Christmas morning has changed drastically as my children have grown older.  When they were little, my husband and I would be woken up long before the sun to see what Santa had brought them.

This morning, we are celebrating Christmas in a condo on the beach in Florida.  I was up watching the sunrise over the ocean this morning as my children lay sleeping in their beds.

Living My Best Life

Sitting in the cafe of the cruise ship, an older women, all smiles walked by.  When she passed I noticed the back of her shirt said, “Living my best life”.

I started to think about the phrase as I sat staring at the sign rise over the water.  Am I doing this?

At this very moment, I couldn’t think of a better place to be.  I am floating across the Caribbean sea on the way to Aruba.  Honestly, life is pretty good right this moment.  And in the spirit of living in the moment, yes I am living my best life. Continue reading “Living My Best Life”
